Do You Know where to Hunt for Small Mouth Bass Fish

No doubt that fishing is a wonderful experience and when it comes to bass fishing then the experience will be an exhilarating one. You may be aware that Southwest Louisiana is known for fishing activities and you can get a variety of bass there and you may even get fishes that may range around 8 pounds in weight.




It is true that in America alone the fishing sport occupies more than 70 percent of any other sport and almost all Americans enjoy fishing especially Bass fishing. When it comes to bass fishing, you may find fishing small mouthed bass really interesting, as it is this kind of small mouthed bass that does all the acrobatics in and out of water and may throw a challenge even to seasoned anglers.

Bass fishing, especially the small mouthed one is really a tough task and if you want to achieve success in that you must know few basic characteristics of small mouthed bass.

The small mouth bass fishes are generally brownish green in color with conspicuous dark vertical bars on its sides. The eye color will be reddish and the upper jaw hardly extends beyond rear margin of the eye. The fins are soft and the dorsal fins normally measure around 12 to 22 inches in its length.

Useful Tips for Successful Bass Catch

• You may find bass fishing little catchy in areas where rock ledges are there such as northeast of Maryland, the reason being that bass will tend to take cover under these deep seated rock ledges.

• Bass are very intelligent and they smell the hunters and anglers from a distance. Hence you should make it a point to avoid clutter while going for fishing.

• Bass gets attracted more towards lures such as plastic worms or flies.

• Bass can be found in good numbers in rocky structures and are also found in sparse weed line.

• Bass are very sensitive to light, sound and movements of objects and hence you should try to do the fishing in absolute stillness.

• You can improve your bass catch with more jigs.

• Bass prefer cold temperatures and as they are active under cold conditions you can increase your catch if you can choose colder spots.

• Bass normally prefer to stay at a depth of 20 feet where there will be conducive temperature for it and hence if you can choose your spot based on these lines, then your catch will certainly increase in numbers.

• When the temperature is on the rise, then bass will shift its colonies to more cooler spots and you can also shift your spot and use plastic worms for luring the bass from its hiding.

Remember that you should always be able to outsmart bass in order to increase your catch and you can enjoy the bass fishing to its fullest potential.
