The influence of temperature in Bass fishing

Optimum and Conducive Temperature

The metabolism of Bass is influenced, though not controlled, by temperate climatic conditions. Bass also have the ability to tolerate a wide range of temperatures; therefore we can fish pretty much throughout the year where the temperature hover around 60 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

It is also less widely known that ice-fishermen hook bass at around 32-39.2 degree water temperatures, in deeper waters! As the temperature getting colder, the Bass will tend to be little more sluggish in their movements and knowing this attitude of bass may help you in your endeavour for big catch.

Availability of ample quantity of Oxygen is also very important to fish. In hotter days, bass will try to stay close to the shore (to catch occasional breeze) and in places with ample plant life that produces oxygen. You can learn to read such nature?s signs and apply in your angling for a successful bass catch.

Like humans, fish also need to breathe to stay alive, and hence they may not be found much in numbers where the water is stagnant with decaying vegetation and lack of enough oxygen.
